Irony, the International Criminal Court and Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi (IV)

150 Sunni Muslims unearthed in mass grave; yet another crime against humanity
by the Islamic State … and its ‘Caliph’ … Abu Bakr … al-Baghdadi.

The ‘Caliph’ can’t kill fast enough to suit himself. Thankfully, he’s also sufficiently
brazen enough to be well on his way … to convicting himself … ironically.

For would it not be ironic if the Islamic State’s very own video postings are to be
evidence in the International Criminal Court … against … al-Baghdadi.

Verily, it would be supremely ironic if the Islamic State’s very own video postings
were to be used … as evidence … in an ICC proceeding.

For normally, in any ICC investigatory proceeding of crimes against humanity
probative evidence is less than enough to promise … a verdict of “guilty”.

But here, a sociopath on a par already with the worst sociopaths in world history,
provides evidence … against himself … surreally … most fortuitously.

Tweets and Twits (II)

English is only the world’s second lingua franca. A rich vocabulary and easy
rhymes are at home in song … psalm … prose … or poetry.

The richest tongue (by word count) owes its extreme wealth due to heavy
borrowing from other tongues and the quirks of His timing … uncanny.

To wit: There are more English-speaking Chinese than Americans; more Chinese
wits than Americans … perhaps … know a twit … from a tweet.

Tweet is commonly understood … but twit? Twits are taunts. To twit is to titter
or taunt. Hmm. Curiously, a popular host is … Twitter … not Tweeter.

Why Twitter and not Tweeter, albeit, an intriguing riddle, isn’t the point. Rather,
it’s just that more people, than bluebirds, are tweeting … on Twitter.

Titters and taunts are tweeted and re-tweeted on Twitter, sometimes, mean-spiritedly;
better to be a bubbler … if more … good-naturedly.

Women are HIS Children … Too (V)

Women are HIS Children Too (V)

Click on the link for insight into the gender gap; what it is; and how it regrettably
is … holding us … back. http://wef.ch/m01NP.

Women (and girls) are His children too. The Truth is hidden in plain view, in nonfiction.
There is no absolute but One, and it is, Him.

This tribe-like, nation thing’s not working. We’ll need to find a way to acculturate …
before … at this late date … it gets … far too late.

Holy Scriptures, Rick’s ‘A Purpose Driven Life’, Tony’s tomes on positive,
change and Nelson’s Commission … auger solutions … palliative.

Rick, Tony and Nelson augur hopeful realities; for if destinies individually may be
purposefully forged, ipso facto, so may we forge … a global destiny.

‘AN ATLAS … POETIC’ is a manuscript that begs all … “To be or not to be?”;
it is a question that is, as a plan in itself, an insightfully …

… wise way to inter-connect, to help, to get help, to learn, earn and prosper, to be
in peace …. To so be … be … connectedly.

Why then, ‘AN ATLAS … POETIC’? It’s all about whether to be or not to be,
notwithstanding, Tower-of-Babel-like languages … and nationalities.

‘AN ATLAS … POETIC’ is a clarion call to action; it’s an all-points-bulletin
for Bohemians; ‘global’ citizens … not ‘national’ … citizens.

From Self-Immolation and Arab Springs, a Flicker of HOPE Against TERROR … may be … ARISING

From a self-immolation and an Arab Spring, a flicker of hope against debasing
TERROR, may be, against hopelessness, suddenly … arising.

From Tunisia, ground-zero of Arab Spring, and the nation that has been sending
the greatest number of foreign fighters to ISIS a-fighting, comes hope, a-lighting.

In Tunisia, a second round of post-Arab-Spring elections has seculars winning.
It is, surreally ironically, a flicker of hope, from a destructive fire … arising.

More Stupid than Ever … a SMART Phone Later (II)

Having dropped my old cell phone into a steaming cup of coffee, I bought a smart
phone, but regrettably … I’m ever more stupid … and ever less … smart.

A sad development, this added stupidity and diminished lucidity; my contraption
predictably failed to prompt me to make better choices; better decisions.

But no such luck; I still make all the same old time-dishonored mistakes; falling
in love at the drop of a hat … my time-honored old loves … remembering.

Verily, youth is seemingly wasted on the very young; wisdom on the very aged;
for were there a better balance between the two, humanity, would be … aided.

With the Death of a Baby … Ebola’s Entry … into Mali

Enlightening academic rhetoric: When does an epidemic become pandemic? It
depends on who you ask. So WHO (World Health Org.); is Ebola … pandemic?

Between 550,000 and 1.4 million people in West Africa could be
infected with the Ebola virus … come January.

That alarming news was published last month and is according to a study
by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

A million and a half infections in West Africa translates (at current rates) to nearly
a million deaths from the Ebola virus … come January.

The death rate in the Ebola outbreak has risen to 70 percent and there could be
10,000 new cases a week in two months … WHO warns … grimly.

HIV vis-a-vis Ebola; the former leads to an excruciatingly painful and lingering death;
the latter to an excruciating … but relatively rapid … death.

A sky-high fever, bleeding from the eyes, nose, mouth and ears and rectum; the Ebola
virus is highly virulent and that’s not to mention its explosive … diarrhea.

WHO is treating this case as an emergency for the deceased baby traveled
by bus before she died and up to 300 people … may have exposed.

So … WHO (World Health Org.); when do the various Ebola epidemics …
become … world-widely … a pandemic?

To my Sisters … and … to my Brothers

In reality neither boy, nor father, nor biological brother (but to one) am I; however,
to more than seven billion citizens … I am … brother.

Brother to more than seven billion is chachomanopapa. He writes to brothers
and sisters, as he would have them … do unto him …their brother.

Brothers and sisters that share space on a planet that gets smaller by the minute.
Brothers and sisters: Let’s seize the day, and every minute … in it.

Seize the day and every minute in it. Would that we abnegate our nationalities
in order to best revere … and exalt … our humanity.

Lives are, in surreal reality, routinely disrupted by war or catastrophic illness;
but what an inconvenience, were football season rendered … meaningless.

What a specious species are we! Ebola seemed far and remote. Al-Baghdadi
seemed similarly, far away … we rationalized … delusionally.

Man-oh-man! What a specious species are we! Wrapped in complacency, we
live our illusions; one such delusion is: … THAT won’t happen … to ME!

What a difference mere moments can make! A virulent Ebola virus, in nonfiction,
competes with al-Baghdadi … its counter-part … human.
