PLATO: “Only the dead have seen the end of war.”

Plato, eminent student of Socrates and learned teacher of Aristotle, once said,
“Only the dead have seen the end of war.” … Enough … said.

The so-called Socratic paradox: “I know one thing: that I know nothing”
contrasts with talking heads … who seemingly know … everything.

I may be mistaken in my impression that pithy quotes such as the foregoing, in
surreal nonfiction … take no part … in today’s formal education.

And as I wholeheartedly agree with Plato and Socrates in their assertions,
that is why I’ve written AN ATLAS POETIC … in this nonfiction.

Confucius on WISDOM

“By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest;
second, by imitation, which is easiest;
and third, by experience, which is the bitterest.”

The foregoing wise words of Confucius are timeless advice that know no
boundaries. By experience alone we ought, by now, be wise, although,
we are not. So imitate, and moreover, reflect, so that in wisdom you grow.

Experience. Imitate. Reflect. Write about your own experience.
Read of the experience of others. Their experience,
through your empathy, naturally leads, to a reflective experience.

Khalil Gibran: Trees are Poems the Earth Writes upon the Sky

Trees are poems the earth writes upon the sky …. The salvation
of Earth may depend on, analogs of, Khalil Gibran.
And so it has been that this author is inspired by the poets, by William
and … the Almighty Him.

Harder to write and to read than prose, but poetry
expresses far more elegantly, passionately
and emotively than one may ever, hopefully,
aspire to … prosaically.

A form of written expression … so seemingly … like lyrical hymn,
has been … historically … so seemingly … favored by Him.
To wit, the superlative verse of the great poets, amongst them,
Ovid, Emily, Robert … and the immortal … William.

Shakespeare’s reputation, amongst thoughtful (wo)men
is amongst … the best … of the west.
It is complemented by the east’s, Khalil Gibran;
between them; amongst the best … of the best.

And so it has been that inspired by an the Almighty Him,
William, Khalil, Ovid, Robert and Emily, et. al., when expressively
needing to deliver a passionate message … dramatically,
authors know; there’s no better way … than poetically.

CONGRATULATIONS, Malala & Kailash! (V)

Two years ago and some days go Malala Yousafzai of Pakistan was wantonly
shot in the head by a gunman of the Pakistani
Taliban. Last week she was honored by the Norwegian Nobel Committee. She’s
sharing the 2014 peace prize with Indian … Kailash Satyarthi.

Irony abounds here. Malala’s world-widely famous at seventeen. Kailash, at sixty,
is less renowned. Kailash is an Indian Hindu. Malala is a Muslim, Pakistani.
Geographically speaking, India and Pakistan, are neighboring countries;
that notwithstanding, they are less than neighborly … politically.

These two nations, one predominantly Muslim, the other predominantly
Hindu, mirror the abstract spiritual schisms, that so haunt, humanity.
Would that more people begin to mirror these two laureates, so recently
honored. No doubt, they’d agree: Abnegate nationality to exalt … humanity.

For the Big Three (a tongue-in-cheek characterization of the Muslims, Christians
and Jews), egocentric misinterpretation of our Scriptures,
Scriptures Abrahamic all, albeit sharing, many personages and doctrines,
are screwing up, for the spiritually … non-Big-Three-aligned … The Big Picture.

That being the case, perhaps the most hopeful harbingers of global solidarity
to arise from today’s prize announcements are the invitations, timely,
by prize winners Malala and Kailash, to the political leaders of their countries;
to join them on the podium when they receive their Nobels … from the Committee.

Should such a scenario come to pass, then the Norwegian Nobel Committee
may be, along with its joint Indian and Pakistani
2014 peace honorees, amongst visionaries that see that peace and prosperity
awaits but a planet that abnegates nationalities … in favor of … humanity.

Irony abounds here indeed; and that an aged Hindu Indian and a young Pakistani
Muslim girl are amongst the latest Nobel laureates is, ironically,
the least of it; for Allah/God/Jehovah/Yahweh is the Creator of the Big Three,
their estranged brothers and of … The Big Picture … cosmologically.

Five Estates of the Realm … on Jump-starting … the Commoners

Really surreal, nonfiction: The historical three estates of the realm, clergy,
nobility and commons; now five, with media … come lately.

Really surreal, nonfiction: There are now five estates of the realm; clergy,
nobility and commons … media, are … Johnny-come-latelies.

Really surreal, nonfiction: Now there are five estates of the realm but newly
added reporters and bloggers, now eclipse, two … of three.

Really surreal, nonfiction: Two of the five estates of the realm, are reporters
and bloggers … would that they jump-start … the commoners.

ROBIN WILLIAMS … IS

Ironies abound in this surreally #twitterfiction-al nonfiction; good things
happening to bad people; bad things to good people …. It’s dismaying.

Irony abounds in surreally #twitterfiction-al nonfiction. Robin Williams dying
by his own hand; innocents too … at the hand of ISIS … dying.

Ironies abound in this surreally #twitterfiction-al nonfiction. This coming
from one who’s been … life-sucking demons … with Robin … sharing.

Irony abounds in #twitterfiction-al nonfiction. A bi-polar planet increasingly,
dies by its own hand; but evil dies forever; good is … Godly.

#Twitterfiction-ally, Art, the wannabe author of AN ATLAS POETIC knew him
personally not; that is not to say, he won’t miss Robin … Williams.

CONVERT … OR FACE … EXECUTION

Al Baghdadi, an Islamic scholar of Sharia Law, in #twitterfiction-al nonfiction,
may be considered benevolent. Convert, or face … execution.

Convert, or face … execution. In #twitterfiction-al nonfiction, those are your options
whether ye be Yazidi, Christian or a Shia … Muslim.

Al Baghdadi’s Islamic State men aren’t personable individuals; they don’t discriminate,
in nonfictional #twitterfiction, between apostates.

In #twitterfiction, the Islamic State of Syria and the Levant (ISIS), is now IS
(Islamic State). The question now, is: What, in hell, is IS?

Ergo, in #twitterfiction, previews to AN ATLAS, POETIC: Poetry about history,
spirituality, and eschatology; epigrams, and a blog, unitary.

A … ONE-STATE … SOLUTION

Make a partner @netanyahu of enemies. In #twitterfiction a one-state solution
would trump virtually any nonfictional … two-state solution.

Make a partner @netanyahu of enemies. In #twitterfiction a one-state solution
is cheaper by far than the chaos of this insecure, nonfiction.

Make a partner @netanyahu of enemies. In #twitterfiction, a one-state solution,
solves all the issues and disarmingly disarms, Palestinians.

Make a partner @netanyahu of enemies. In #twitterfiction a one-state only
solution to the Palestinian conundrum extends … Madiba’s legacy.

Make partners @netanyahu of enemies. In #twitterfiction a one-state solution
extends Madiba’s legacy to GLOBAL … truth and reconciliation.

Make partners @netanyahu of enemies. In #twitterfiction a one-state only
solution to this crisis lays a foundation for peace AND prosperity.

Make partners, @netanyahu, of enemies. In #twitterfiction, a one-state solution
is best; for politics plays 2nd fiddle to fun and recreation.

Make partners @netanyahu of enemies. In #twitterfiction, a one-state only
solution is best; and its very best feature is … its simplicity.

ON … MARKSMANSHIP

When to act; when to lie low; Von Bismarck, and other great marksmen keenly
sense larger pictures. To win, one must shrewdly and cunningly
know, when to finger triggers, and when to linger; not fingering, the trigger, safely.
It’s vital … we act … or not … accordingly.

Eureka! The Holy Scriptures; Rick’s tome re our individual purposes; Tony’s
on near instantaneous, positive changes in …
conduct; Mandela’s example; a coop model and the Zoo Crew’s dreamy story
on kinship … augur … we may act … akin.
